Frequently asked questions and answers for Measuring, Motor Protective Relays - Industrial Automation
How do you display power consumption with a counter?
The KM20 Power Sensor pulse output is output to a counter, which makes it possible to easily calculate the total power consumption.
How do you wire the KM20 Power Sensor and how do you mount the Current Transformer (CT)?
The CT has specific wiring and the Power Sensor has polarity (see Figure 1).
Wire the CT so that the load side of the sensing line is on the side of the CT with the label "L" and the power supply for the sensing line is on the side of the CT with the label "K."
Be sure that K and L are connected correctly (see Figure. 2).
If the polarity is incorrect, the power indicator (POWER, green) will flash (see Figure. 3).

What is the KM20 Power Sensor?
The KM20 Power Sensor measures the power consumption for individual pieces of equipment and then outputs a cumulative pulse (cumulative unit pulse) according to the measured power consumption.

How can you construct a power data collection system?
A system for energy conservation management under standards such as ISO14001 can be constructed by combining the KM20 Power Sensor with a DeviceNet network, which enables simple, flexible data collection. In addition, water, gas, and other energy amounts and production quantities (pulses) can be input and unit energy consumption data can be collected
What is power consumption?
Power consumption is the amount of work per hour.
Power W = Voltage (V) x Current (A) x Time (h) [Wh]
