Dome illuminators are an economical source of diffused, uniform light.  Their large, solid angle of illumination supports imaging of curved, shiny or bumpy surfaces.  They are a cost-effective alternative to NERLITE CDI illuminators for applications not requiring an on-axis lighting component.
